Minare is 140 km away from Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. The area is undeveloped and illiterate due to poverty. Life for children in this area is survival. They are not privileged to enjoy their childhood life. They have no nutritious food or proper clothing. They have no toys to play with like children in other parts of the world. Their little feet have never worn shoes. Since there is no school in the area children are not expected to get an education. Some of them have lost both their parents. The fortunate ones have only lost their father or mother. They ware the same clothes until it they become totally worn out. Life for them is not exciting.

[As you see in the movie] they start helping the family in the fields as a shepherd boy or girl even in the rainy season. They spend most of their time in the fields taking care of the cattle. When they get older they get married at a very early age.

This is to give you an idea of how the children of Ethiopia, especially those in the remote regions are living. It is not a coincidence that you are reading this page at this time. These children are calling you to help them. We can change their lives. God created and ordained us to be a blessing to such beautiful children.

That is why Macedonian Mission International established a pre-school at Minare. We have 50 children enrolled and are planning to have more children when our financial position enables us to do. We have 100 screened children at Minare waiting to enroll under the same project and we are hoping to start soon. Will you help us?
